Art Gallery Visit...Self Portrait

1. Why did you select the inspiration pieces?

I selected this piece because it seemed to be good a example of a self portrait.  It had all the qualities I was looking for.

2. Why did you select the media to create your self-portrait?

I selected this media because its the only thing I had in my apartment to use. I was pleased with it because I was able to erase easily.

3. What challenges did you face in creating your self-portrait and how did you overcome them?

The challenges I faced was drawing the eyes correctly.  I fixed this by erasing and redrawing them.  I also tried to concentrate on the details of the shape.

4. How does this piece represent you?

This piece represents me because it is a drawing of myself.  I tried to include all the features of my face that I think are unique to me.

5. What elements and principles of art did you apply in this work?

I used the elements and principles of lines, emphasis, and proportion.

6. Did you enjoy working on this project?

Yes I enjoyed this project.  It was fun to understand and analysis the features of my face.

7. What do you think of your final artwork?

I pleased with my final artwork.  I think it looks a little like me.  Some of the features are a little animated but I like it that way.
